Job Context

Jagorani Chakra Foundation (JCF) is a national voluntary social welfare organisation founded in 1976 at Jessore district. With the partnership support of Save the Children international, Jagorani Chakra Foundation is implementing Reading Enhancement for Advancing Development (READ) Project which is funded by USAID. JCF is inviting application for the position of Class Room Assistant from competent candidate for its project intervention areas in Magura and Jhenaidah districts.

Job Description / Responsibility

Coordinate with classroom teachers where extra support is needed in areas such as formative reading assessment, classroom management, managing the book bank and contributing to print rich environment.

Conduct community mobilization and community preparation in favour of READ activities.

Provide technical support to Community Reading Circles, in coordination with the volunteers.

Assist in conducting IAT at school level and in sharing the results of IAT at school level.

Contribute to the creation of print rich environment in grades 1-3.

Assist teacher during teaching learning process when needed in grades 1-3.

Ensure display of books and materials in the classroom.

Help teachers and book captains to distribute levelled books to students and maintain a register.

Collect data, including use of classroom observation checklist, to monitor project functioning.

Assist head teacher to fill out the supervision checklist when necessary.

Enter RIMES data when required; data quality is a must.

Arrange meetings, workshops and training events; facilitate in these events according to guidelines.

Prepare monthly class assistance plan in consultation with TO.

Preserve and maintain data, information and records.

Receive visitors and prepare visits as needed.

Conduct tasks on a flexible basis when requested by Supervisor or leadership.

Job Requirements

Age At most 35 year(s)

1 year experience in any development program (education preferred), community and primary school level work experience is desirable. Inter personal communication skill in highly required.
